SparkFun Electronics and Advancer Technologies launch MyoWare® 2.0

The MyoWare 2.0 version features a new Muscle Sensor board and five shields designed to fit together for a seamless experience and a compact project profile. The Muscle Sensor 2.0 produces data in three modes: Envelope EMG, Raw EMG and new for version 2.0 – Rectified EMG.
“Our hope with the new MyoWare 2.0 ecosystem is to once again lower the barrier to entry for myoelectric technology,” said Brian Kaminsky, Founder/Owner of Advancer Technologies. “We’ve redesigned the entire ecosystem to make setup a breeze, eliminating the need to solder connections, opening up this innovative technology to a wider audience.”
Two new shields designed for version 2.0, the MyoWare Link Shield and the MyoWare Arduino Shield, work together to allow users to connect up to six Muscle Sensor 2.0 boards to an Arduino microcontroller. Three additional shields updated for version 2.0 include:
- MyoWare LED Shield
- MyoWare Cable Shield
- MyoWare Power Shield
“SparkFun has been offering the MyoWare product line for almost a decade at this point and have been one of their biggest fans the entire time. So we are thrilled to partner with Advancer Technologies to manufacture and manage the sale of the ‘MyoWare 2.0 ecosystem,’ mentioned Kirk Benel, Technical Director of SparkFun. “By combining our resources, we have been able to design and create an ecosystem of EMG (electromyography) sensors and accessories that we can both be proud of.”
The MyoWare 2.0 map and shields are now available for purchase at sparkfun.com.
