Romelu Lukaku starts Chelsea medical examination after € 115m in fees agreed with Inter | Chelsea

Romelu Lukaku has completed the main part of his medical checkup from Chelsea to Milan after the Premier League club agreed to pay Internazionale ⬠115million (£ 97.5million) to re-sign the attacker.
Lukaku’s representatives expect the player to fly to London this week to complete a move that will bring the transfer fee – excluding loans – spent on the Belgium international over the course of his career to around £ 285million.
The amount to be paid by Chelsea is just short of the record £ 100million spent by Manchester City to buy Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.
Thomas Tuchel made a striker his priority and Chelsea moved for Lukaku after concluding that targets such as Erling Haaland and Harry Kane were out of reach. Lukaku said in June he would stay at Inter after winning Serie A, but told the club last week he wanted to join Chelsea. He is expected to earn around £ 250,000 a week there.
Inter came under pressure to raise funds due to their financial situation, but intended to keep Lukaku. His impending move means they plan to keep Lautaro MartÃnez, for whom Tottenham have offered ⬠70million.
Lukaku knows the Premier League well as he joined Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2011 and has also played for West Brom, Everton and Manchester United.
