In this video, Narjust Duma, medical doctor, previews an ASCO Annual Meeting training session that will define microaggressions and outline strategies and actions that can be taken to improve the work environment.
The “Microaggression, Bias, and Fairness in the Workplace” training session will take place June 3 at 1 p.m. CDT during the ASCO Annual Meeting, June 3-7 in Chicago.
“Challenges will always exist, but it’s very important that you have the tools to overcome unconscious biases – which can range from gender biases to affinity biases – and that you have the tools to deal with microaggressions and defend or protect interns who might face microaggressions when you’re there,” Duma told Healio.
