Government Medical College, Patiala held a white coat ceremony for the 2022 batch of MBBS students. The principal of the college, Dr. Harjinder Singh, congratulated the students on stepping into the most prestigious field of medicine with enormous responsibilities for struggling society. He cautioned students with zero tolerance for gagging, intoxicating substances and alcohol use in the facility, but with a focus on academic, social and extracurricular activities.

Addressing the students and faculty, Patiala MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli said, “Medicine is the most noble but challenging profession and medical professionals are the true heroes of life and deserve to be hailed for their services to the sick. He expressed the hope of medical students to maintain the prestige and honor of this profession.

Patiala (Rural) MLA Dr Balbir Singh congratulating the new entrants said it was a proud moment for them and their parents. Doctors are symbols of devotion, possession and goodwill and they are expected to be ready at all times to treat their patients. Concerned about the high tuition fees for medical courses, the rising incidence of attacks on doctors, the safe working environment and the fight for the rights of medical professionals, he said he was working together to restore the former glory of this prestigious medical school with health and education. as the main priorities of his government.

Joint DRME Dr. AD Aggarwal, Deputy Principal Dr. RPS Sibia, Medical Superintendent of Rajindra Hospital Dr. Harnam Singh Rekhi, Chairman of Punjab State Medical and Dental Teachers Association Dr. DS Bhullar, Heads of Various Departments as well as professors participated in the white coat ceremony for the 225 medical students who entered the medical school this year and completed the Maharshi Charak Shapath administered by the Director-Principal.
