Get Troy Iwata’s first listen on the title track of How to Fix a Mechanical Heart
New production company The Bad Kids to host online listening party for new musical’s concept album How to repair a mechanical heart Popular Theater creator of TikTok JJ Niemann (The Book of Mormon) will host the event, featuring members of the cast and creative team. The Free Listening Night will air on December 30 at 8 p.m. ET.
Based on the novel YA by JC Lillis, How to repair a mechanical heart focuses on two guys who meet in a fan fiction chat group and plan a road trip to a TV show convention. To verify Be cooler Troy Iwata sings the title song in the video clip above.
The concept album is directed by Iwata and Chris Medlin (Diana, mean girls), with Trey Harrington, Maria Habeeb, Lily Talevski, Stephen Smith, Mara Jill Herman, Ben Roseberry (The Lion King), Ben Bogen (Frozen), John Jeffords, Katelyn Lauria, Pilar Martinez, and John Rodney Turner.
The musical adaptation is designed and produced by Marc Erdahi. It includes a book and lyrics by Jay Falzone and music by Trent Jeffords. Musical direction is provided by Julianne B. Merrill.
