The 2005 classic sold 3,300 downloads, up 730%, in the week ending May 27, triggered by its placement in the iTunes Store’s 69 ¢ Alternative Hits sale.
Although its release predates the chart’s origin in 2010, âFeelâ has racked up a total of 138 total chart weeks and now has the distinction of completing the longest climb to No. 1. Previously, this mark was owned by Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars” which finally peaked in November 2020 in its 130th frame.
Some other discounted tracks, also with alternative trending, are re-entering digital dance / electronic song sales, including Nine Inch Nails’ “Closer” (# 5; 1400, up 439%), “Summertime” by Lana Del Rey and Cedric Gervais Tristesse â(No. 11; 900, up 333%) and New Order’sâ Blue Monday â(No. 15; 700, up 129%).
SWEET SUCCESS: Moving on to the Dance / Mix Show Airplay board, Justin Bieber beats 12-10 with âPeaches,â starring Daniel Caesar and Giveon. The first top 10 each for the last two acts, “Peaches” is Bieber’s 18th top 10, the fourth best total dating from the creation of the charts in 2003, after David Guetta (29), Rihanna (24) and Calvin Harris ( 19).
The âPeachesâ poppy picks up mix pieces, but also notable tricks at core-dance outlets including iHeartRadio’s Pride Radio and KMVQ-HD2 San Francisco.
