Dublin news LIVE: Popular train service canceled due to mechanical issues

A popular train service was also canceled this afternoon, with no alternative train currently available for passengers in distress.
Irish Rail tweeted: “The 13:18 Clonsilla / M3 Parkway and 13:40 M3 Parkway / Clonsilla were canceled this afternoon due to mechanical problems with the train intended to serve these routes. No alternative train is available at this time. ”
Multiple accidents have crippled traffic through Dublin.
An accident has occurred on Victoria Quay in Dublin city center.
The accident wreaked havoc on traffic this afternoon, with drivers being urged to be careful when approaching the intersection.
The Traffic Management Center tweeted: “Victoria Quay / Watling St; accident at this crossroads. Approach with caution. “
Meanwhile, the traffic lights at a busy Dublin intersection are currently out of service.

In other news, Dubliners were left with water outages today.
The South Dublin County Councils Water Operations Section is carrying out essential repairs on Wednesday 12 January.
This work will be carried out on behalf of Irish Water, the 24 areas of Dublin: Balrothery Estate, Castle Park Estate and the surrounding areas to be impacted.
