C-MET, NITW ink MoU for collaborative research in electronic materials

Warangal: The Center for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET), an autonomous company under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MietY), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Warangal Technology for a collaboration in research and development related to electronic equipment here on Saturday.
C-MET establishes a Center of Excellence (CoE) in areas such as rechargeable batteries, additive manufacturing, e-waste recycling, graphene-based devices and IIOT. NITW has established a Center of Excellence in conjunction with SIMENS establishing 13 labs, leveraging Siemens’ integrated platform to leverage expertise from various industry sectors and provide partners with knowledge and tools .
Another center of excellence established at the NITW campus is in collaboration with ABB India, now renamed Hitachi ABB Power Products and Systems Ltd. (HAPG), called Smart Electric Grid Laboratory. Thanks to this infrastructure, advanced research in the fields of RES integration into the power grid, dynamics of smart and microgrid systems, stability, protection, operation and control can be carried out. and facilitate research in emerging areas of electric vehicles and energy storage systems.
The MoU between C-MET and NIT Warangal will create synergy between two leading organizations in the thrust areas for the development of electronic equipment required for the country. This will facilitate the exchange of the knowledge base between professors, researchers and students, within the framework of collaborative projects. This will also help build an industry-ready workforce in the country.
